Arab, Uzbek fighters killed in latest drone strike: report

Gazavat Media, a jihadist propaganda website that caters to Turkish jihadists belonging to the Taifatul Mansura, or the Victorious Sect, released a statement saying that one Arab and four Uzbek fighters, along with a civilian, were killed in the March 30 drone strike in Miramshah in North Waziristan. The statement has been translated by the SITE Intelligence Group; a portion is published below. Gazavat Media did not identify those killed, but did say a “commander was among them. From SITE:

The regional source for Gazavat Media reported that 1 Arab and 4 Uzbek fighters were martyred in a drone attack in the region of Waziristan, and that an Uzbek boy was killed in the same attack.

A source for Gazavat Media located in Miranshah reported a drone attack against two different houses where the mujahideen were staying with their families.

The initial report of the strike indicated that four “militants” were killed and two more were seriously wounded.

Gazavat Media has announced the results of US airstrikes in the past. In November 2011, Gazavat Media released a statement that announced the deaths of 21 “Turkish mujahideen affiliated with the Haqqani group” in a US airstrike in Afghanistan, and four more Turkish fighters in a drone strike in Mir Ali in North Waziristan. See LWJ report, Jihadists announce deaths of 21 Turks linked to the Haqqani Network.
