The Washington Post reports that the US is now flying unmanned Reaper strike aircraft, or drones, from Ethiopia to hit Shabaab in Somalia:

    What are the possibilities of having the UAVs going after the pirates in Somalia? A rough estimate puts the base at 1,600 km from the Indian Ocean. At a leisurely 300 km/h, an MQ-9 could be over the Indian Ocean within six hours which gives the UAV 18 hours of over ocean time.
