Lashkar-e-Taiba rallies for bin Laden

Lashkar-e-Taiba leader Hafiz Saeed.

Hafiz Saeed, the leader of the Lashkar-e-Taiba and its charitable front groups, the Jamaat-ud-Dawa and the Falah-i Insaniat Foundation, held a rally in Lahore to praise slain al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and curse the US for killing him. From AFP via Dawn:

Police said at least 4,000 people attended the Sunday demonstration. Protesters chanted "Down with America" and carried a banner that said "America is the worst enemy of humanity!"

Hafiz Saeed, the leader of Jamaat-ud-Dawa, called bin Laden a martyr and demanded the Pakistani government break ties with the US following its raid May 2 that killed the al-Qaida chief.

For more on Saeed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jamaat-ud-Dawa, the Falah-i Insaniat Foundation, and their relationship with the Pakistani state, see LWJ report, US designates Lashkar-e-Taiba's charitable front as terror group:

Pakistan has refused to crack down on homegrown terror groups such as Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, despite their covert and overt support for al Qaeda, the Taliban, and other terror groups. Inside Pakistan's military and intelligence services, which are the real powers in Pakistan, groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba are seen as 'strategic depth' against India, and are used as instruments of foreign policy.

Hafiz Saeed, the leader of the Lashkar-e-Taiba who has been designated by the US and the UN as a terrorist, remains a free man in Pakistan despite openly supporting jihad in both India and Pakistan, and regardless of his group's involvement in the Mumbai attack as well as other terror attacks. Pakistani Army corps commanders, who occupy some of the senior-most positions in the military, openly cavort with Saeed.

In somewhat related (and belated) news, as of May 10, more than 100,000 posters of Osama bin Laden have been sold in Pakistan since his death on May 2.

I don't understand...you have 4000 jihadis gathering in one place....getting radicalized off the charts. Why do we wait to kill after they kill? Why not wipe 'em out in one big, bad explosion? Talk about sending a message! Are we in this to win it or are we just playing a different game? I just don't understand.....

What are they buying them for target practice too? Bravo Pakistan!

Why India hasn't taken Hafiz Saeed, its OBL equivalent, out by now is inexplicable. Whether it is pusillanimity or excessive caution by its civilian leadership, India is just a convenient excuse for Pakistan to behave in the manner that it does. The infamous AQ Khan was reported to be a member of the Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Daniel Pearl was entrapped by Jaish-e-Mohammed. The latter mob family has since gone underground, which is especially troubling given that they made a name in being more vicious and bloody than the Lashkar. A well placed drone calling card to Saeed would send a clear message to the Pakistani military that it isn't business as usual any more - except for publishers of posters.

It reminds me of the huge Nuremberg rallies Hitler used to have before WWII. Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy can be compared to today's Jihadi Pakistan and Communist China - Evil brothers-in-arms.

Then the world had gotten together to crush those monsters. Will the democracies step-up again? At this crucial time we need Russia and India on our side. But stupid wars in Iraq, Libya, Yemen and Syria are distancing them from NATO and infact strengthening the case of the China-led Jihadi-Communist faction.

More proof that the problem country in the region is not Afghanistan but Pakistan!

Pakistan is a confused, conflicted, broken State.

There is no saving Pakistan--it is simply untenable as it is.

The Taliban/LeT/AQ combine is fighting for power.

America is fighting to prevent the terror-combine from getting there.

The Paki State machinery, including the Army, is a joke. They can't get it together. So they're getting ripped up down the centre en route to collapse. A viable, prospering Pakistan is a pipe dream, not reality. Post-OBL reactions at all levels makes it obvious they are past the point of no return.

The issue is how neatly will the pieces fall when it implodes. Secondly and more importantly, the extraction of the nuke assemblies.

Bill, do you really have to pin-up a photo of this creep? Hardly a poster boy! ;-)

If i were him, i'd be a suicider for sure. One doesn't need to go to hell to see what the face of evil is like.

Jamaat-ud-Dawa + US Navy SEALS = another dead Islamofascist.
