US drones kill 21 AQAP fighters in separate strikes in southern Yemen

Seven al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula fighters were killed in a strike in Baydah today, and 14 more were killed in a strike in Lawdar on April 11.


US drones killed 21 al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula fighters in two separate strikes on April 11 and today. Yemeni troops killed 28 AQAP fighters near Lawdar. Five soldiers and eight AQAP fighters were killed in Aden.

The military said that 31 al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula fighters and three tribesmen were killed during fighting in and around Lawdar in Abyan province. Fighting in Lawdar has entered its fifth day.
