The Al Nusrah Front, the Ansar al Sham, and the Sham al Islam continued to battle regime forces in Latakia; the regime responded with bombardments. Al Nusrah and the Islamic Front clashed with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Sham over oilfields and facilities in Deir Izzour. ISIS fought against Al Nusrah, Islamist fighters, and Kurdish YPG forces in Hasakah. Al Nusrah and Islamic fighters clashed with regime forces in Hama, and in Reef Dimashq.

The Islamic State of Iraq and the Sham bombed a Shiite shrine in Raqqah. Regime forces bombarded rebels who have seized Kasab in Latakia, including the Al Nusrah Front, the Islamic Front, and the Ansar al Islam. Turkey is allowing the rebels to move somewhat freely in the border areas of Latakia.
Islamist rebels from the Ansar al Sham raised their black banner over coastal territory in Latakia after regime forces lost control of the largely Christian town of Kasab. The Al Nusrah Front and the Islamic Front clashed with regime forces in Deir Izzour; in Hama; in Aleppo, where they were backed by the Al-Mojaheden and Al-Ansar army; and in Latakia around Kasab, in the al Marsad 45 area with a suicide attack, and in other areas near the Turkish border. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Sham beheaded a Kurdish YPG fighter in Hasakah, bombarded villages in Raqqah, and clashed with the YPG in Aleppo.
The Islamic Front and the Al Nusrah Front seized the Kasab crossing into Turkey. Rebels are also advancing in Idlib, Aleppo, and parts of Hama. The Islamic State of Iraq and the Sham clashed with Kurdish PYG and Jabhat Al-Akrad forces in Raqqah. In Deir Izzour, ISIS fought against the Islamic Front in a salt mine, and a 20-year-old woman was executed. Al Nusrah and the Islamic Front also battled regime forces in Homs and in Aleppo. The Islamic Front blew up a building inhabited by Shiites in Idlib. The UN blamed both the regime and rebels for the "extremely challenging" conditions hindering the delivery of aid. Eleven officials of al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb's Central Region issued a statement greeting the emirs of the ISIS and Al Nusrah and urging an end to fighting against ISIS "and the emigrants."
