[UPDATE 2] A missile strike killed 12 Taliban in Khushali Tari Khel, North Waziristan as negotiations for a new North Waziristan Accord are underway. Baitullah Mehsud appointed Faqir Muhammad the chief negotiator for the Pakistani Taliban. The government admits it is fighting an insurgency in the tribal areas. Five members of Jundallah and two policemen were killed in a shootout in Karachi. Fifty Taliban were reported killed during the three-day battle in Darra Adam Khel.
