Afghanistan air drops provide life support to troops




Security forces killed 23 Taliban, including a Taliban commander linked to al Qaeda, in Ghazni, Zabul and Kandahar, and detained four more in Kandahar. The Taliban killed a district governor and 14 policemen in attacks in Kunduz and Badakhshan, and an ISAF soldier in the south. Britain claimed the Taliban have gained strength in Helmand.
