A suicide bomber detonated inside of Combat Outpost Chapman in Khost province; casualties cannot be confirmed. Afghan and Coalition forces killed and captured an undisclosed number of Taliban fighters in Baghlan and Helmand. Bulgaria will deploy an additional 30 soldiers.

Thirty-seven Taliban fighters, five tribal fighters and four security personnel were killed in clashes in Arakzai. Four children, a woman, and two security personnel were killed in clashes in Mohmand. A wanted Taliban commander was killed in South Waziristan. The Taliban killed a policeman in Bajaur.







Iraq

Security forces detained 19 “infiltrators” from Syria, 12 wanted men in Nassiriya and 10 more in Basrah, eight al Qaeda fighters in central and northern Iraq, a Special Groups fighter in Amarah, and a Hezbollah Brigades facilitator in Baghdad. Insurgents wounded four civilians in bombings in Baghdad and Mosul.
